I have seem alot written about they launch of pay per play was a complete flop and that the program is not worth getting into for an affiliate.

Who knows for sure? Could they really have a huge following like Google Adsense? or will it be another flop for Netaudio ads? Time will tell.

When google came out with adsense, how many people said that it would NEVER make money for any webmaster and how many people are paying money to be advertised with adwords now?

I figured, heck, pay per play is a free program so are all the other affiliate programs I am in. What is there to lose?

I am glad that I signed up when I did since the doors for pay per play have closed to new members until further notice.

But if you didn’t get to sign up and would like, they are putting people on a waiting list and you will be notified when the doors come back open.

They also have a blog and a forum to keep people posted on what is going on.

If you are interested you can sign up here. If not, I will keep you posted.

If you did not join the Netaudio ads when the first started to sign up new publishers, you will have to wait for a while. If you go to the homepage, under the sign up it says

“This program is currently closed to new member”

But… you can put your name on the waiting list to be notified when the doors do open back up. The page you go to may not say that, but that is the information given to the core affiliates. Pay per play page.

Why did they shut their program to new affiliates just 11 days after the program was to launch?

Because the core group of affiliates did such a good job recruiting others into the program before the launch even took place!

The bad news (for those who decided to wait and see how the program goes) is that no one knows when the doors will open back up.

If you are wondering, Yes, I am in the core group of affiliate marketers for this program. Have I made any money yet even though they have not went to full launch? Yes.

There are many people saying that the program is a scam and we won’t see anything from it, but I figure when Google Adsense (and other advertising programs to make money) started many people were very disappointed with that and look where that program is today!

Some affiliates in the program are angry because they expected the launch on Feb. 1, 2008 and expected to make all kinds of money right off the bat. Well because there are many more web pages than advertisers, this didn’t happen. Plus there were bugs in the system that need to be worked out. Which happens when you launch any new product or service.

It’s free to sign up, so what have you got to lose to put your name on the waiting list?

Go to Pay per play

If you have became an affiliate and not making money, before you throw in the towel, take a little time to find out what you are doing wrong and locate different avenues to help you start money making on your blog or website.

Many new affiliates see all the ebooks, forums, blogs and websites stating they can make money within a short amount of time using affiliate programs, only to find out that effort (many times a lot) is needed to obtain the super affiliate status. Remember even the people who are super affiliates started out as beginners and had their share of mistakes. So if you want to become a high money making affiliate, you can’t quit. It just take time.

I recently saw a posting in a forum where affiliates go to share ideas, tips and ways to help make money online. Anyway this poster stated he had gotten into the affiliate marketing arena and was not making any money so he was going to throw in the towel. After a few postings from other people trying to help this person, the original poster stated they have been working on an affiliate business for about 3 months.

3 months? That is still just a beginning. There are people who have been doing it for years and still not making the kind of money that they thought they would be.

So what went wrong?

1. Internet marketing network – are you using all of the social areas to help bring targeted traffic to your site? Getting the word out about the products you are promoting?

2. Free stuff – On your blog or website are you giving away free information? No, not just the ebooks and such people can find all over the internet, but original helpful ways to help people solve the problems that they have, and then, of course, by using many of your products you are promoting.

3. Collecting e-mail address – are you compiling a list of e-mail addresses on your blog or website? If you are, are you using these e-mail address to generate additional (or first time) sales for products you promote. If I sign up for a newsletter at a website, I sure don’t want to receive an e-mail every day saying “Buy this, Buy that…ect” Give me a good reason to want to purchase from you and not one of your competitors.

4. Tracking your affiliate links – Many affiliate programs have the ability to let you track your affiliate links. You can even put the same link on different pages of your website, see which page is doing better after a time. If page A has more clicks than page B, try to figure out why? More relevant? Maybe your link need to be in a different place on page B or even though page A and B goes to the same product page, maybe you need to change the wording a little on the page B link.

5. Contact the affiliate manager of the merchant you are using – These managers (most of the time) will help you anyway they can. They can be a fountain of knowledge to help you figure out what may work on your product promotions. They know who the super affiliates are and what has worked for them. Don’t overlook contacting them for help.

6. Useful content – does your website have informational/useful/unique content on it to help people deal and/or solve their problems or is it just a web page with links going to all different types of products that you are promoting?

If you have a website and it just does not seem to work, maybe if needs a face lift?

Even though my create a website tutorial is geared towards beginners learning how to build a website, sections of it may help give your website a new beginning.

When I first started out, I search and search trying to find some good website niche ideas, but could not find any real good information or list to help. Yes, I knew what I enjoyed but yet did not think that my niche idea would help me create a money making website.

To help you get started, here is a huge list of possible website niche ideas for you to think about, expand upon and/or research into further.

Most people do not want to give any ideas away for fear the idea will be picked up and used by someone else. I don’t have this fear as I knew before starting my website tutorial that it is a very competitive area, but I went ahead and built is anyway because I felt it was an area that needed more information added to it for beginners to learn ALL the steps in website creation.

To help you think of a niche: Look in forums, blogs, on the Internet, your family, co-workers, newspapers, in your home. Find a problem that other people are having and help them solve it.

Yes, I know that sounds simple but it does take research and thought. It may sound silly but keep writing paper with you (yes, even next to your bed) and write down thoughts as you think of them. Ok, be careful if you are driving, this is when I have my kids write down something quick for me. I did finally progress to a digital recorder and carry it with me at all times.

Granted you will not be able to compete with high money keywords – money, financial, cash etc..BUT you can look at some of the longer tails of ANY area and find some gold mines. It just may take a lot of research and thinking outside the box.

By using some of the ideas from the list you may be able to find a couple of niches to work in conjunction with one another. This I have found true for many areas but sometimes people do not think outside the box. If you are thinking of trying affiliate programs or getting into internet marketing you need to look at a big picture and try to keep the blinders off your eyes.

So go ahead take a look at the niche ideas as they may help you in your journey for creating your website.

Many beginners get into the affiliate business and believe this is a get-rich-quick method since they have seen in posts and forums how many people are making good money and quitting their full time jobs to do it. First of all it takes a lot of hard work and determination to become a super affiliate (the ones making a six figure income online) and Second, many of these people have been doing affiliate marketing for years.

I am sure the super affiliates did not get there overnight. They put alot of time and energy into what they were doing. Don’t get me wrong, Yes, you can earn money being an affiliate for merchants and some pay better than others but it still takes time to see what works and what doesn’t.

I saw an e-book (free) the other day that said this person made TONS of money as an affiliate and they will give you a free report on how to do it. OK, Ok, I had to see this report. As I read through the information, I understood very quickly how they were making all this money…….using underhanded and all ways that went against the rules of the merchant they were using to make all this money. They even said that it is breaking the rules, but HEY! they are making all this money……who cares!

This may be true, but if you would do these ways, how long before you get caught, get thrown out of that merchant’s program and then have to start over? I guess (to me) it is not worth using these tricks…I would rather treat my affiliate programs as a business and build it up over time to make sure that in years to come I will have money coming in and not have to worry about if I would get thrown out of the program because of being against their TOS (terms of service). If you build up your business right the first time, you could enjoy monthly income for years to come.

I am not saying people that are doing the underhanded, spammy things are bad…..that is their choice and for all things that make the world go around….But I would rather do it right the first time instead of having to try and keep one step ahead of my merchant’s eyes or the search engines.

Anyone that has bought an ebook that supposedly told you how to make money online (but it did not work).

Anyone that has seen the websites that told you that there are only three steps to creating a website (there are many more steps – Click here to see all the steps).

Anyone that has purchased the cookie cutter sites and were told that YOU would make money hand over fist but found out later that there are duplicate sites just like yours online.

Anyone that wants to really learn about search engine optimization.

Especially anyone who wants to get online and dominate their market.

They cut through the hype and the fluff and tell you step by step for how to create a profitable website, how to build an email list, the correct ways of doing link building and much more.

I have taken two of their classes and will be taking more as time allows me. The classes have a “tuition” but I will not even hesitate to pay the fee because I KNOW for a fact these classes work. See the listing of current classes.

When I paid my first tuition payment, I thought O.K, let’s see what this class is all about. I was hooked on the first lesson. I knew as I progressed these were the answers I was looking for.

Let me also tell you that the classes offered are not for the person who wants something for nothing. You have to work to get through the lessons. No, they are not difficult, but they can be time consuming to fully grasp what they are teaching. If you do decide to take a class, my advise to you is take your time. Many of the lessons I went over 3 or 4 times to make sure that I fully grasped the information. If you do get stuck or just “not getting it” they have a members only forum that has great information from previous students and the problems or difficulties they ran into.

If you are not sure about the classes or can’t afford them right now. On the University 2020 home page you can sign up for a free newsletter that is full of great information. After you have received a few and decide that this type of learning is not for you, take your name off of their list.

For a while I was not going to talk about U2020 because I wanted to keep this to myself.

But then I figured, Hey, there is plenty of room on the internet, competition never hurt anyone.

If you decide to sign up for the profitable website building 101 class (one of the two I was in), let me know, I would like to hear how you are doing.

Trying to find your way in the affiliate marketing area at times can be very tough. Not really sure what you want to sell or promote? The great thing about the Internet is the possibilities are endless.

You can become an affiliate marketer free of charge. The companies that run these types of programs let you join their programs free. Why is this? Because if you sign up to become an affiliate with them, they do not have to pay for advertising. Yes, they still have to have software to run the program but many use an affiliate networks. They pay the networks to handle the paperwork and help keep their programs on the right track, but either way, using their own in-house software or using a network, is a small cost to pay for possibly thousands of products being sold for them.

Sometimes the best way to start is by looking into the affiliate marketing networks. There are hundreds for you to choose from.

Not sure what an affiliate marketing network is? A merchant will sign up with a company that takes care of all the paperwork, obtaining the tax information from the affiliates that sign up, tracking the sales and much more. Many times when you sign up with one or two of these networks it also helps for you to not have to remember all the different programs that you are involved with. You can track your sales in one location. Click here for more information on network marketing and how to find a merchant for your niche.

Signing up with an affiliate program is easy, but most merchants want you to have your own domain name. If you are planning on doing with as a business, you would want your own name anyways as this looks more professional to your visitors.

Part 2.

It seems everyone is opening their doors to accept affiliates in their company. Why Not? It is free advertising for them and in the long run, can boost their sales.

Here is a few items to thing about if you are thinking of getting into an affiliate program.

1. Before you get into any affiliate programs. Do your research. Is this a market that is oversaturated with too many people trying to sell their products? or products that are similar? (i.e. jewelry, weight loss etc…)

2. Check out Clinkbank, Commission Junction or one of the other affiliate marketing networks that have multiple companies that they deal with.

3. Have knowledge of their products. Even if you do not personally buy their products, you must believe in what you will be promoting.

4. Don’t just sign up with all the ones that have high marks and a high percentage. There are many new affiliate programs coming out everyday. Take a look at the new ones and it might help you to get in at the ground level. Many times the affiliate programs that are not doing very well may be that the people promoting them are not able to do it properly but then on the other hand the product or service could be a dude.

5. Don’t put your eggs in one basket. If you are going to sell any product online, sign up as an affiliate marketer with a few different companies.

6. Don’t expect overnight results. Working in the affiliate marketing area is hard work but the results can be very profitable.

Here is some of the things I have learned on my journey in Affiliate Marketing.

Part 1. Overview

There are many types of affiliate marketing. Buying products, Buying services, pay per click, pay per impressions just to name a few.

For people that do not know what affiliate marketing is.

If you have web site, blog, send a lot of e-mail, then you become a “salesperson” for a company.

You would sign up with a company that you would like to market their products. Then you would add a link, banner or picture into your website, blog or e-mail that would be coded with a special code that tells that company that you are the person that sent another person to them.

If that person buys a product or service from that company, then you would get a percentage. I have seen anywhere from 5 – 75%.

If you are looking to “get rich quick” this would not be it.

I am a member of a few affiliate forums that deal only with that topic and even though I have seen people state that they have quit their day job and do this full time…..it usually is over years that they have built their “company” up.

Affiliate Marketing is not for everyone. It does take hard work. If you are willing to put in the time and sometimes a little money, you can earn extra income.
